Gauchar Station Yard in Gauchar, Uttarakhand is a completed architectural project for the Char Dham Rail Link Project, delivered at a cost of ₹32.00 Cr. Located on a 6,000 sqm valley terrain, the design responds to Uttarakhand’s varied climate—hot, humid summers, a robust monsoon season with heavy rainfall, cool winters and occasional frost. Structures are oriented to enhance daylighting, roof slopes designed to shed rain efficiently, and façades insulated for thermal comfort. Arofe Build & Design Pvt. Ltd. provided full architectural consultancy—master planning, structural coordination, sustainable strategies, material selection. The result: an efficient, climate-responsive railway yard completed on schedule and budget, setting a benchmark for durable infrastructure in mountain valleys.
