The Arpinchala Station Yard in Jammu & Kashmir was conceived as part of the Northern Railway – Rail Baramulla Link Project, with a project cost of ₹30.00 Cr. Spread across 7,940 sqm of hilly terrain, the design addressed the region’s cold climate and heavy snowfall through resilient planning, efficient drainage, and structures optimized for daylight, passive heating, and snow load management. Arofe Build & Design Pvt. Ltd. rendered architectural planning and design consultancy, including master planning, structural coordination, material specifications, and sustainability strategies. Energy efficiency was achieved through natural ventilation, thermal insulation, rainwater harvesting, and durable finishes. Completed on time and within budget, the yard now serves as a benchmark for sustainable, climate-responsive railway infrastructure in challenging terrain.
